Every year the San Diego and North County Chapters of the Sierra Club hold a comprehensive 10-week backpacking course consisting of 10 Tuesday night information/training meetings and 4 weekend trips out to the local deserts and mountains. This course is great for both new and experienced backpackers. The weekend trips include car camp, desert, mountain and snow camping.
